Book presentation and panel discussion to mark the 100th birthday of Jan Karski, the underground Polish courier who in 1942 was the first to deliver an eye-witness testimony on Holocaust to W. Churchill and F.D. Roosevelt. The project is realised in the framework of the Karski Year and the Hungarian Holocaust Memorial Year under the auspices of the Embassies of the Republic of Poland, the United States of America and  Israel. 

Program:

·         Planting a memorial tree devoted to Jan Karski in the inner yard of the Holocaust Memorial Center

·         Presentation of the Hungarian edition of Jan Karski’s biography by its author professor Andrzej Żbikowski

·         Panel discussion on the legacy of Jan Karski, the Holocaust, lessons learned 75 years after the outbreak of WWII with the participation of professor Andrzej Żbikowski – the book’s author, professor György Haraszti – director of the Holocaust Memorial Center and further experts
