Founded in 2007, the Polish Meccorre String Quartet are one of the most promising chamber ensembles. In 2012 they won second prize at the London Wigmore Hall’s string quartet competition, as well as a special prize for the best performance of Haydn and Mozart. The group are keen to experiment with special concert programmes, seeking to abolish the barriers between the different periods, styles and tastes. At the Budapest concert they are joined by multi-award winning Balázs Fülei, who needs little introduction to the Hungarian audience.
