Since 1971 they have played thousands of gigs across the globe, sharing the stage with The Mahavishnu Orchestra, Charles Mingus, Bob Marley, The Soft Machine, Collosseum II, and Elton John – to mention only a few of the world’s most renowned artists. The three original SBB members (Józef Skrzek, Apostolis Anthimos, Jerzy Piotrowski) were the first Polish group to perform at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark (1978). The band’s prolific output encompasses over a dozen albums recorded in Poland, Germany, and Czechoslovakia. A number of these, including „Pamięć” (1975), „Welcome” (1978) and „Memento z banalnym tryptykiem” (1980), are considered to be among the finest progressive rock recordings ever made in Europe. Since the beginning of their career the musicians have co-operated with many legendary figures of the Polish rock (Czesław Niemen, Halina Frąckowiak) and jazz scene (Tomasz Stańko, Tomasz Szukalski). Proclaimed the best rock trio since The Jimi Hendrix Experience and Cream, SBB have earned widespread critical acclaim throughout Europe and beyond.
