Weronika Lewandowska +plan.kton

Her verse rises beyond linguistic barriers. She proved this in 2006 when she hypnotized a multi-lingual audience at the International Slam!Revue in Berlin. Since then, she has presented her melodic, Slavic verse in Warsaw, Dusseldorf, Augsburg, Brno, Paris, Turin, London, Kiev, Beijng, Reims, taking part in the most important poetry and slam events in Europe. Weronika took part in artists in residence programs of the first European Slam Meeting in Berlin and Connect in Dusseldorf.

Weronika regularly collaborates with the audiovisual project – plan.kton. Together they discover new ways of fusing words with music, using sound and rhythm. They do this by experimenting with different styles – often those which are more associated with the club scene than with quiet poetry evenings. Subtlety fuses with energy; feminine sensitivity and sensuality with the predatory street, which is filled with sinister shadows, lurking in dark nooks and crannies.

In 2007, the journalist Michał Nierobisz wrote about her in the lifestyle magazine ‘Exklusiv’:

“… she stands out from those who have a distinctive style. You could even risk saying that next to Bohdan Pasecki… she is probably the only person (in Poland) who knows what ‘it’s’ all about.

On paper her poetry can be described as a linguistic style but performed on stage, it gains additional expression. Not only does it have multiple meanings but it is also incredibly rhythmical, melodic and because of all of this, full of emotion.”

Weronika is currently collaborating with plan.kton (Kordian Piwowarski, VJ Jago) on a multimedia volume of poetry. Recently they take part in SSNS project (www.ssns.pl).
